Next, I started project initiation and setup - choosing software used (Unity because I am most familiar with it and also because it has a much higher market share compared to Unreal engine - "Unity has a 66.14% market share in the Game Development category, while Unreal Engine has a 33.86% market share in the same space", 6sense.com (2023). Thus, this will prove more useful when applying for games industry jobs as there will be more vacancies this will increase chances of finding employment after University.

I also setup version control for the the Unity project, opting to use GitHub Desktop. This is not only good industry practice but also part of the FMP assessment (Risk Assessment), with our grade in this section being heavily impacted if the risk we state we've prepared for happens and affects our project.

I also researched, sourced and utilized appropriate Unity Store assets for the project as well as started the level design documentation for the project. Sub-tasks included establishing a game concept, key features, alterations from the first iteration of the prototype, core gameplay, player controls, level design overview, level flow/composition, VFX, lighting, post-processing phases, and sound scaping.
